What is better than family? The past 4 years my grandmother, paternal, has made a point to get our family together. There were two firsts this year. One, we enjoyed each others company in Oklahoma. We celebrated in Emory, TX the first 3 years. My Great Grandmother moved to OK, so we moved the reunion. Second, it was chilly, wet, and muddy. No volleyball, baseball, or sunburns. Just UFC on the trampoline, endless conversation with many 5 generation families (91 people were there), savory country food, and kids having to change clothes due to playing in the mud. Great times! Hope you all get to celebrate with extended family often.

CAMPING...IN THE HOUSE
Joshua and I did not get the opportunity to camp in a tent at Eisenhower State Park, so we did the next best thing. We borrowed the Henline's tent and pitched it in the house. Well, the next best thing is probably camping in the back yard, but if I am going to be outside in a tent it is not going to be in my back yard in the city. I want to hear the bugs and smell fresh air. Anyway, Joshua is now fast asleep in the tent. I will let you know if he stays in it all night. We may have to get out own tent and make this a once a month routine.
Side note...Joshua is looking so much older these days. What is it? I mean he should look young until puberty, not when he is 4 1/2. Gotta love that boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIMI...SURPRISE!
Mimi's birthday was April 29th. It was decided that we would wait and celebrate her birthday when Jeff returned from his travel. So, Jeff got back into town and Mimi got a surprise Sunday morning...Kristen, Jeff's baby sister, and Morgan came into town from SC. Mimi was very excited to see them as Morgan was happy to see Mimi. Here are a few pics the day we celebrated Mimi's birthday...the boys hair is wet due to some hot tub time.
Thanks Kristen and Morgan for coming into town. We really enjoyed seeing you both.
Andrew and Morgan checking out what is in the diaper bag.
Joshua and Morgan...we could not get Andrew in this one.
Joshua loves his Mimi...

CAMPING TRIP MAY 2009
The boys and I went camping with my Mom at Eisenhower State Park. The original plan was to camp with our Sunday School class for one night, but two things happened. First, Mom and I decided that we wanted to go for more than one night. Second, the Sunday School camping trip never happened due to heavy rain and tornado warnings in the area...we hope to get a trip in with the Sunday School class this summer.
We got to the park Thursday around 5:00 p.m. Mom had dinner ready. We ate dinner, unpacked, and then went for a drive around the camping grounds. When we returned from the drive we played some ball (soccer, kick ball, baseball), went for a small walk around the RV camp site, and then it was bath and bed time. Friday we hiked, biked, played ball, and took a trip to the store. Saturday we went to Joshua's t-ball game, walked around the park when it was just sprinkling, and played games in the trailer. Sunday we packed up and made it home to see Jeff after he had been gone for a couple of weeks.
We all had a good time and look forward to camping again.

FIRST T-BALL GAME
Joshua had his first t-ball game on April 25th. The frist game was to be on April 18th in which Jeff changed his travel plans to accomodate attending the game. However, the rain canceled the game and Jeff missed the game...bummer! Anyway, the game started at 8:30. Grampie, Mimi, Aunt Traci, Maammaw, and Pawpaw all made it to the game. T-ball really is designed to teach the game...running the bases, hitting the ball, catching the ball, throwing to first base, where to stand in the field, etc...It was a blast to watch him have so much fun and play a team sport. It was a beating to stand in the outfield and say, "baseball ready, don't pick that flower, stand up, there is not a potty here, put your glove on, face the batter, put the stick down" and on and on. I have to say that I was not saying that to Joshua. He was actually doing well focusing on the game. The game ended up a tie...4 runs max per inning and there were less than hand full of outs the entire game. GREATNESS! Here are a few pics from the day.
